- Who wrote it?
- When and where is it from?
- Why was it created?
- Is the report trying to persuade you to do something?
- Does the report contain emotive language?
- Does the report contain lots of opinions?
- Are the facts supported by quotes, images or statistics?
- Is it a rumour or speculation?
- Does the story make sense with other things you know?
After discussing these questions encourage children to decide how reliable do they think the report is?
